Personally, I always have a white or black desktop. I don’t like big images behind my icons. And I want a clean and insightful workspace. But that does not take away my appreciation for a nice illustration. The desktop wallpaper project is full of nice and inventive illustration, initially made as wallpapers, but by now it has become some kind of museum to me.
