Last year two Dutch guys, Sander Munsterman and Jan-Willem Vaartjes, developed a mobile application called XS2TheWorld. This smart program is a travel guide with a database filled with informatie about 25 cities in the world complete with pictures. The application also contains phrase books in 19 different languages. These phrase books contains at least 200 common sentences per language that are spoken out loud from your cellphone.
The idea arose during a trip to China where these two men experienced how difficult it is to communicate in a strange country in a strange language.
Now, with the Olympics in China before us, such a application is a handy tool to communicate in China.

The makers of XS2TheWorld are interviewed by a Dutch blog about their product and about the new mobile internet.
