In biology, a spore is a reproductive structure that is adapted for dispersal and surviving for extended periods of time in unfavorable conditions.1
But this isn’t a biology class, I’m referring to the video game that is due to be released the 5th of September. In the game the player controls the evolution of a species from its beginning as a unicellular organism into a complex animal. Yesterday I downloaded the demo, where you can make your own creature. It’s a really cool feature with a lot of options, and your animal immedietly comes alive. And I don’t mean when you push a ‘create’ button or anything, but right away when you add a body part. So if you’re making a creature that looks like a giraffe with wings and you add some frog like legs, it starts moving like you would expect from such kind of animal.

So download it now, and there even is a Mac version avalaible (which is pretty rare). I was even more curious about the bacteria and cellular stages in the game, but the demo only contains the Spore Creature Creator.

If you’re not willing to download the demo, be sure to check the video:
This game is also from the same creator as the sim series by the way. Played the demo for 2 days in our open study room at school now, got everyone’s attention and even my teachers didnt mind. Wich says enough about it in my opinion.
And the soundtrack is done by Brian Eno
Just tested the demo, and WOW! Very nice!
