We don’t know who has ever seen Google Sets before, but we think it’s something incredible that should be spoken about. This small feature uses the information Google has to create a ’set’ of information. For example, if you search for “red” and “blue”, the search results will show “yellow”, “green” and “black” as well.
It is still under development, though accessable through Google Labs. Google Sets were not available for developers before, strangely. They were not able to use it in applications.
Until now! Jankees did something very nice today: he created an API for Google Sets! A query is performed through a php-page which scans the results page of Google Sets and returns an xml-file. Try it here.
We released it under this Creative Commons license; the full source code can be downloaded here. Feel free to make some changes, because the coding (though functional) is not very neat yet, but please share-alike.

We are currently working on an application to visualize associative information from Google Sets, much like a brainstrom application. Stay tuned, we will keep you updated!
Oh, looks very cool. It could also be very well used in the application we saw at Electron, where you could type words like ‘woedend’ and ‘blij’ to generate screens that matches the feeling.
I’ve been using the makeshift Dapper dapp so far (http://www.dapper.net/dapp-howto-use.php?dappName=GoogleSetsAPI) so access to a stand-alone solution is awesome.
Just a note, the first link provided is broken.

I’m about to make the same thing as you, but in Ruby instead of php. Do you know if it’s legit to do this? Wouldn’t google mind if we use it like this?
