Frameworks

In my programming work I often make use of frameworks. A framework is a set of tools (in programming code) to help speeding up development. These days I see a new (open source) framework being born almost everyday..

I wanted to share the frameworks I like, I suggest you look into it! All mentioned frameworks are free to use!!

Flash

ASAP library
bq. ASAP library is an Actionscript 3 library, I use this as a foundation for all the Flash stuff I make. This framework is really well coded. And it gets updated very often. (Among the delevopers are some people of Lost Boys)

TweenLite AS3
bq. When I need to do an animation in Flash I often use TweenLite, it is a really fast Tween library. There are three versions. All very easy to use!

Gaia framework
bq. The Gaia framework is a complete solution for building flash websites, be sure to check the video demo. It is a very complete thing, I never used it but it looks really promissing…

HTML

Blueprint CSS library
bq. Blueprint is a CSS framework, which aims to cut down on your CSS development time. It gives you a solid CSS foundation to build your project on top of, with an easy-to-use grid, sensible typography, and even a stylesheet for printing.

JQuery
bq. In my opinion THE best javascript library around.

Dynamic websites

Ruby on Rails
bq. I just love this framework, you should really check the online video tutorials. This framework is maintained by a lot of people and it is really stable. The downside is you can not run it on every webserver. (I hope this a matter of time)

Cake Php
bq. If you can not host a Rails applciation on your webserver you can use the PHP alternative to Rails. I haven’t used it but it looks real nice!
