Evernote

I’m the kind of guy who normally has a desk full of post-its. Next to those there’s my laptop with dozens of digital post-its and .rtf files full of notes and todo’s. Therefore it’s no surprise that I forget or lose some of those once a while.
I believe more people have that same problem because a few months ago Evernote was released.

“Evernote allows you to easily capture information in any environment using whatever device or platform you find most convenient, and makes this information accessible and searchable at any time, from anywhere.”1

“Our goal at Evernote is to give everyone the ability to easily capture any moment, idea, experience, or object whenever they want using whatever device or platform they find most convenient, and then to make it all easy to find.”2

Last Thursday I downloaded the program and I must say it works pretty well except for the text recognition. This form of handwriting or other text interpretation is still a problem for most applications, but I think it’s good that companies like Fujitsu and Toshiba invest in these technologies because in my opinion they are going to play a big role in future computing.

It’s also very nice to see that the analog and digital world are not that far a part any more and these kind of applications will bring them closer together than they have ever been.

I for myself are going to start using Evernote because I think it’s a nice application which can help me archive my notes and make them searchable.

You can register and test the program for yourself over here, and please let me know what you think!
