Did you know Salvador Dali and Walt Disney made an animation movie together? I did not, and I did not believe until I saw it. It is called ‘Destino’ and turns out to be quite beautiful as well. They started the project together in 1945, but never released it, Disney did not see any financial potential in the project and decided to seize production, 18 seconds of animation was put away (the part with the two tortoises).
In 1999 the project was brought back to life by Roy Edward Disney, Walt’s nephew. It was officially released in 2003, at the Annice International Animated Film Festival, 58 years after the start of the production. So here it is, a cam from MoMa, a bit shaky though. I guess we will have to wait a bit for the scene release.
This is so cool. Please ping me when the vid is available to watch firsthand.
