The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will start on the 8th of August. Only a few days away now and there is a lot of publicity around this event using the Olympic sports as a theme.
Offcourse there is a spot from the official sponsor ‘FREDDY’ which also has a reference to Laufe der Dinge.
But even better is the print campaign, which shows some great photoshop work.
Amnesty International uses this international venue – for a higher cause – to fight for human rights. See the several billboards below:
On New Work I found a collection of the Olympic posters of the last 112 year. Click to see them all.
There’s also a BBC Sport campaign for the Chinese Olympics. The imagery is made by Jamie Hewlett – comic artist and co-creator of the Gorillaz – and the music is done by Damon Albarn as well (Blur/Gorillaz).

I really love the poster collection from the last 112 years. It’s nice to see how these evolved the past century and to conclude that, in my opinion the nicest ones where made for the games in Mexico and Montreal.
Today I found a collection of Olympic Torches made by the NY times: http://tinyurl.com/6fejdn
Great show today ^^
