Today has been a really fun day! Many (in the Flash world) famous speakers came to Amsterdam for (free) talks about the AIR runtime. (I spoke about AIR earlier…)
Adobe AIR is a way to publish your Flash (or html) projects to a desktop application. With this you can do all the things a regular program can do! You have full control over the file system, i.e. save and delete files, etc. But the nicest thing, in my opinion, is that it’s cross-platform so it works on Windows and Mac OS (and there is a beta for Linux).
All the speakers (Lee Brimelow, Mike Chambers, Ryan Stewart, Kevin Hoyt, Serge Jespers and some more) amazed the crowd with the features of AIR! I especially liked the speech Lee Brimelow made. He has made some nice applications which he used to show off some features. I really liked the ‘world’s smallest video player’ it was 10px by 10px (and it could play HD quality movies!!) Isn’t that great?
And best of all, we got some goodies too!

Sweet..
